Recently I went to Las Vegas for a mom's retreat and had the time. of. my. life. OMG. It had been far too long since I felt the girl inside me come alive again! You know what I am talking about... you know... ;) That girl who could do anything she wanted and go anywhere life was gonna take her. Vegas has a way of channeling your inner YOU. I met someone there who inspired me to start writing again. This ain't my first rodeo when it comes go blogging. I just let it go when I had my first baby. Becoming a mom is tough! You have to let go of that girl you once were, and with that, you may have to let go of a lot of things. I have heard people tell me, "Oh you need to make sure to maintain your own identity after becoming a parent!" Bla Bla... Sounds good on paper, but for me, it wasn't what my reality had in store. Anyways, this guy that I met was super cool and is in advertising for "Influencers". Man has the world been changing! I didn't even know that is what successful social media folks were called these days. I have a lot to catch up on. He asked me, "So why Jessa?" He knew it wasn't my real name. I didn't even know this guy and he totally called me out. But so what? I go by Jessa these days for a lot of reasons. First of all, Jessica is super popular, where as Jessa is a little less so. I am also an independent fashion retailer with LuLaRoe, and when I joined, there were several Jessica Scott's who were already a part of LuLaRoe, so I chose to go with my childhood nickname of Jessa instead. It is familiar to me and easy to spell for most people so here I am. You can call me Jessa or Jessica, idc. But I will refer to myself socially as Jessa.
In a way this brings us back full circle to what I started this post out with... Channeling my Inner Stevie Nicks... or more like, Jessica channeling the inner Jessa. I like that girl Jessa. She is fun and LOVES to have fun. She loves to dress up and go out! She is not afraid to live life to the fullest and does her own thing. I am not as young as I used to be, but that girl is still inside me and will always be there. My fire still burns with passion and I feel ready more than ever for where my life is headed.
